Description:

This role is responsible for leading the planning, design, installation, commissioning, and optimisation of Control & Instrumentation systems for the manufacturing facility. The position oversees plant automation, process control, instrumentation reliability, project execution, and maintenance while ensuring operational excellence, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, design, installation, commissioning, and lifecycle management of Control & Instrumentation systems for manufacturing projects.
  • Manage PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, and field instrumentation systems to ensure reliable plant automation and process control.
  • Oversee selection, installation, calibration, inspection, maintenance, and performance optimization of field instruments, sensors, transmitters, control valves, and analyzers.
  • Develop and review control philosophies, P&IDs, loop diagrams, control logic, instrumentation specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, Process, Utility, and Project teams to ensure seamless execution of automation and instrumentation projects.
  • Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, validation, and performance testing of automation and instrumentation systems.
  • Drive preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and plant performance.
  • Manage automation vendors, contractors, system integrators, and OEMs to ensure timely project execution and compliance with technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, quality systems, and calibration requirements while maintaining technical documentation.
  • Drive digitalization and Industry 4.0 initiatives through advanced automation, real-time monitoring, and process optimization.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, resources, and project risks to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
  • Lead and mentor the Control & Instrumentation team while promoting technical excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Perform any other responsibilities assigned by management from time to time.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • B.E./B. Tech in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical & Instrumentation, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • M.E./M. Tech in a relevant engineering discipline will be preferred.
